Block device drivers

• As stated previously, block device drivers are associated with disk-like devices

• They make use of a complex cache system and of read-ahead techniques

• We won't deal with block device drivers

• We might try, however, to implement a rudimentary cacheless I/O driver for, say, a floppy disk
