• Includes 13 I/O lines and a timer

• The I/O lines are splitted in two ports called A and B. PORTA has 5 lines, PORTB has 8 lines

• The lines are handled by means of 4 registers:

• TRISA, TRISB: to determine the direction of an I/O line

• PORTA, PORTB: to read or write data on the line

• The 8 bit.timer with prescaler will be used to decode the signal coming from the sensor
