• The MPLAB environment, which also includes a PIC simulator, has been used to develop the firmware for the two PICs

• Some remarks:

• The duration of a short interval is 0.8 ms, that of a long one is 1.6 ms

• The time interval between two sequences of signals is 88 ms

• In order to determine the step (and thus to identify the low and high intervals), we implement something similar to a clock inside the PIC
